Aspiring Veterinary Medicine students – Cambridge University Event!
VetCam 2022 – Introduction to Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge University Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th April 2022 |
Following the successful courses held here in recent years we are holding another two-and-a-half-day residential programme for Year 11 and 12 students interested in applying to study Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge University. The course will take place on Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th April 2022. We would be grateful if, on our behalf, you could forward this information to those students who have expressed an interest in studying Veterinary Medicine. To avoid disappointment, please stress to them that early booking is essential. www.study.cam.ac.uk/undergraduate/apply/requirements) The programme will include visits to both the pre-clinical and clinical departments to give a taste of the course, insight into life at a Cambridge college, and a chance to meet staff and current students. Places will be limited to 130 on first-come-first-served basis, and it would be sensible to encourage only likely A/A*-grade candidates to attend. Please note that Chemistry A level (or equivalent) is mandatory, and we strongly recommend two other science subjects, normally Biology, Physics or Maths. (For information on entry requirements for different examination systems, please seewww.vet.cam.ac.uk/study/vet/vetcam To view a provisional programme for the event and for more information, please go toThe 2022 course fee will be £250 for the all-inclusive two-and-a-half-day course; this fee covers all costs whilst attendees are in Cambridge. Attendees will be staying in St Catharine’s College in single student rooms with shared bathrooms. Attendees will need to do a Covid rapid lateral flow test the morning of arrival. www.vet.cam.ac.uk/study/vet/vetcam – but if you need to discuss this further, please contact Rachel Worsley at [email protected] for more information. Bursary applicants should apply via a form they will be sent by Rachel, rather than using the online booking system. In addition, we are offering a number of bursaries, which will cover the course fee and reasonable travel costs to and from Cambridge. We particularly encourage applications from students from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds attending state-sector schools and colleges. Further details about eligibility for the bursaries are detailed atIt is important to emphasise that attending this course, or other open days at Cambridge, while useful for many pupils to make their decisions about university choices, does not confer any advantage in the application process. The course can be booked and paid for using a debit or credit card by following the link at; |
If you have any problems using the booking site, please contact us at [email protected]. As stated above, places are limited to 130 and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. We will acknowledge all applications and confirm bookings by e-mail on receipt of payment. We will keep an additional 10 names on a waiting list, in case of any cancellations. If a booking is cancelled, a £75 cancellation fee will be charged, and the remaining amount refunded. If you cancel within seven days of the start of the course none of the fee will be refunded. In addition, limited accommodation is available for the Sunday night before the start of the course; if you want to book accommodation on that evening, please do so when booking your course place using the online booking system, and we will be in touch with you with further details. Please note that this would be provided on a first-come first-served basis and that attendees staying overnight on Sunday 10th April 2022 will not be supervised.
