Homework

At Winterstoke Hundred Academy we believe that good quality homework is important to support learning that has taken place in class. Knowledge is the key to unlocking potential and independence over time

The majority of homework is based on the consolidation of knowledge.  Additionally, knowledge organisers are given out to support students retrieval practice. This is  based on up-to-date research that proves how effective retrieval practice helps with embedding knowledge and long-term memory. Additionally, research conducted by the Education Endowment Foundation in 2020, concluded that homework can result in five months’ additional progress.

Our aim is for every child to achieve more and maximise their learning in school so there is no option for your child to fall behind with homework. We have the highest expectations of what your child can achieve and with your support we can make exceptional things happen.

All work will be set on Class Charts where you and your child can see what needs to be completed. If you or your child need another access code to Class Charts please contact your child’s tutor.
