This is the fourth time we’ve run the competition and the theme for entries is simply: Me and My World.
Story ideas can reflect a personal insight or experience or be issue-based. We also want to know why the entrant(s) think it is a story BBC audiences should see, hear or read. We are looking for original story idea outlines, not fully finished reports or features.
Young people can enter individually or as a group. The judging will take in two age categories – 11-15 and 16-18 year olds – and there will be national and regional winners and we will announce them all in June.
Judges include Huw Edwards, Naga Munchetty, Greg James and Alex Jones from The One Show!
All the details, including more about the categories and how to enter, are available on www.bbc.co.uk/youngreportercompetition and the closing date is 27 March 2022.
Previous winners have reported on topics including the positive impact of volunteering, stammering, exam policy issues, the lack of diversity in gaming characters and experiencing early menopause.
