Help your students find jobs and support the kickstart scheme!

We are writing to inform you about The Kickstart Scheme; a £2 billion Government scheme that funds the creation of high quality jobs for 16- 24 year olds on Universal Credit, deemed to be at the highest risk of long-term unemployment.

We, at the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), have partnered with Reed, the recruitment company, to create job placements in pharmacies and support the ‘Keep Britain Working’ campaign.

What is the job role?

Kickstarters will work as Junior Pharmacy Assistants, and will be paid 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25/hours a week for six months.

They will enrol onto Reed’s employability training course, which covers CV and interview support plus other workplace skills, and the NPA’s accredited Medicines counter assistance course.

This will help Kickstarters gain experience and improve their chances of finding long-term, sustainable work, and for many, this will be the start of a rewarding career in Pharmacy.

How can you help?

We have created over 1500 vacancies across Great Britain, and have had over 250 Kickstarters start working in community pharmacies. Applicants include school leavers and university graduates who have struggled to find work.

Applicants need to apply directly at their local Job Centres, informing their work coach that they are interested in completing a Kickstart placement at a local community pharmacy via the Reed/NPA scheme.

We would be grateful if you could support the Kickstart Scheme and create opportunities for your alumni by doing the following:
