Post-16 success at Winterstoke Hundred
Winterstoke Hundred Academy is proudly celebrating the achievements of its Year 13 students, whose results this summer reflect two years of exceptional progress, commitment and personal growth.
The school’s inclusive approach to post-16 education, welcoming students onto a wide range of A-level and vocational courses based on their GCSE achievements, continues to open doors to higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
This year, school leaders were particularly pleased to see continued strength and growth in outcomes across both academic and vocational courses.
Students have secured an increased number of A and A* grades, reflecting the hard work, ambition and resilience of this year’s cohort.
Students studying applied pathways have also achieved excellent results, with many securing places on competitive university programmes, degree apprenticeships and industry placements.
While leaders are proud to celebrate individual accomplishments, they also recognise that every student’s journey is unique. Whether students are progressing to university, apprenticeships, employment or further training, each achievement represents years of perseverance, growth and determination. Staff are equally proud of every member of our Year 13 cohort and the positive destinations they have secured as they take their next steps beyond Winterstoke Hundred Academy.
The results reflect the commitment of students, the support of their families and the dedication of staff in ensuring every learner is able to fulfil their potential and achieve their ambitions.

“Results day is always a special moment because it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of a remarkable group of young people. Behind every grade is a story of hard work, determination and resilience, and we are incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished.
“This cohort has embraced every opportunity available to them and has supported one another throughout their time with us. It is fantastic to see students progressing to a wide range of destinations, including highly competitive university courses, degree apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
“We are particularly delighted to celebrate students such as Liam James achieved an outstanding three A* grades in mathematics, further mathematics and physics and will be progressing to the University of Birmingham. Keira Thornhill also celebrated excellent results, securing AAB grades in psychology, sociology and English language, reflecting her dedication and hard work throughout her time in the Sixth Form. Ryan Beamish also secured A*, A and a Distinction and will begin a Degree Apprenticeship in accounting in September.
“Most importantly, today is about every student recognising how far they have come. We wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to following their continued success in the years ahead.”
