Winterstoke Hundred Academy marks Remembrance with two-minute silence

Winterstoke Hundred Academy united in a solemn act of remembrance as all staff and students observed a two-minute silence to honour and reflect upon the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in conflict.

This annual tradition serves as a poignant reminder of the courage and dedication of those who served in the name of peace and freedom.

To commemorate the day, students who are part of various youth organisations, including the Cadets, Guides, Scouts, and Boys’ Brigade, were invited to wear their association uniforms.

A spokesperson for Winterstoke Hundred Academy said: “This day is an opportunity for our school community to come together in reflection and gratitude for the bravery of those who served.

“By encouraging our students to wear their uniforms, we aim to deepen their understanding of remembrance and the importance of honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“It is our hope that this tradition promotes values of respect, unity, and empathy among our students, helping them carry forward the spirit of remembrance.”
