Winterstoke Hundred students celebrate at memorable prom

Year 11 students from Winterstoke Hundred Academy formally marked the end of their secondary school journey with a glamorous prom at Batch Country House.
Dressed in their finest attire, students made a memorable entrance as they walked the red carpet into the venue to celebrate with friends and staff after completing their GCSEs.
The evening featured a delicious hot buffet and a selection of sweets, while a DJ kept the dance floor busy throughout the night. A professional photographer and popular photo booth gave students and staff the opportunity to capture lasting memories of the occasion.
Although the prom coincided with England’s FIFA World Cup match against DR Congo, Batch Country House ensured no one missed the action by setting up a television screen, allowing football fans to keep up with the game while enjoying the celebrations.
Dave Roberts, Raising Standards Lead for Year 11, said: “Prom is a wonderful opportunity for our Year 11 students to celebrate everything they have achieved over the past five years.
“It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves, making memories with friends and marking such an important milestone together. We are incredibly proud of the resilience, determination and maturity this year group has shown, and we wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
