Curriculum

Law is an excellent qualification for a wide range of university courses, most notably law itself. As well as being fantastic preparation for higher education it is seen as beneficial for those considering a career in the police, the financial sector, teaching and of course, the legal profession. This course covers many key areas of law, including criminal law, contract law, tort law, and legal systems. You’ll strengthen your knowledge of each of these areas, gaining a deep understanding of the legal theories, principles, and frameworks that underpin them. You’ll also learn about the importance of legal ethics, the rule of law, and the impact of legal decisions on society.

Progression

Prepares students for university study in any humanities subjects including law. Provides students with skills of problem solving; critical thinking and analysis to prepare them for their future. Promoting social awareness and understanding.

Entry Requirements

Grade 6 in English Literature or Language GCSE.

Assessment

English legal system runs through all papers with specialist areas of criminal, contract and tort being covered respectively in papers 1, 2 and 3.

Opportunities for work related activities

Opportunities may include visits to London to visit the Supreme Court of Justice and the Old Bailey, Bristol Crown Court as well as guest speakers from the legal profession.
