Executive Principal Introduction

Dear parents/carer,

I am writing to introduce myself as the Executive Principal supporting Winterstoke Hundred Academy during Ian Garforth’s leave of absence.

Many of you may know me as I was previously Principal at Hans Price Academy over the past 9 years. I have been involved in supporting Winterstoke Hundred Academy for the last 3 years and as such, I am familiar with the school, and the development plans for this year.

I am the Chair of the project group for the new build so am fully up to date with the new build and plans for our move In October. I can now confirm that the Academy will be CLOSED to all students from Monday 16th October to Friday 27th October to facilitate moving into the new building, and the Half Term break.

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome students and families back after what we hope has been a good summer break. I will be meeting all students during their welcome assemblies tomorrow to introduce myself in person.

This is an ideal chance for me to remind you of the following timings for the day on Tuesday 5th September:

• Year 7, 12, 13 at 8:35 am
• Year 8, 9, 10 at 10:20 am

I would like to remind you that we are a mobile free site and as such all phones should be left at home, or if brought to school, they should be switched off and in the bottom of the students’ school bag. If we see or hear a mobile phone on site then we will confiscate it for the remainder of the day.

All students must arrive promptly to school, in full uniform and fully equipped for learning. Should you need support to ensure that your child has access to everything they require, please do not hesitate to contact their Head of Year or ring the Academy on 01934 313 290.
