Leadership at WHA

Dear parent/carer,

I am writing to you today with an important update regarding the leadership of Winterstoke Hundred Academy.

Principal Ian Garforth is on a leave of absence, which means he will not be in school for the start of the new academic year.

While this news will come as a surprise to you on the eve of the new term, please be reassured that we have robust plans in place to ensure operations continue to run smoothly at Winterstoke Hundred Academy.

Vice Principal Steve Holland and other members of the school’s leadership team will be on site as normal, and will be supported during Mr Garforth’s absence by CLF Executive Principal Tony Searle. Mr Searle is a highly experienced leader, having been Principal at nearby Hans Price Academy for a number of years. He will be based at Winterstoke Hundred for several days a week during this period.

Further updates on this matter will follow in due course. However, I am confident Winterstoke Hundred Academy will continue to thrive under this leadership structure; if you have any queries in the short term, please contact Mr Searle or Mr Holland.

To close, I would like to say how excited we are to welcome your child back to school for what is sure to be an exciting term for all at Winterstoke. Our new site opening is now just weeks away, and will further equip us to deliver the best possible education for all our students.

Yours faithfully

Steve Taylor
